AquaBlok Marine & Offshore is a division of AeroBlok Aerogel which, since its introduction has been used widely across oil processing industries both on and offshore. AquaBlok ABQ Series provides excellent compressive resistance at low thickness (down to 3mm) and does not require reinforcment of an aluminium foil facing due it's fibrous strength.
Low thickness, easy application, hydrophobicity and high temperature resistance makes ABQ is the optimum choice for wrapped pipe or pipe in pipe solutions.
AguaBlok pre-formed circular sections can be produced in almost any combination of diameter, thickness or length and adapted to suit individual needs and complex geometries.
The entire AquaBlok Series is flexible allowing for complete wrap around, complex geometries and close fitting specified large diametres.
Aerogel can be supplied in granulated form designed to infill around pipe bundles to fully fill irregular voids. This material is Aerogel in its purest form offering the lowest thermal conductivity of any known solid.

The Effects of Water
It is widely accepted that insulation materials should not be wet when applied, or applied to wet surfaces.
AeroBlok AquaBlok is wholly hydrophobic and breatable allowing and water vapour to evaporate, thus eliminating CUI and reducing the thermal effectiveness of the insulation.
Unlike other insulation materials it is not necessary to weather protect AquaBlok in external condtions, thereby saving time, labour and material costs.
Water Repellency
AquaBlok is wholly hydrophobic and breathable.
This makes our insulation the natural choice for all marine and offshore applications massively reducing scheduled maintenance of CUI. Add to this Aquablok has a working lifespan three times longer than competing products.
Storage
AquaBlok products are supplied in shrink-wrapped polyethylene and being wholly hydrophobic are not affected by exposure to outdoor elements.
Welding
Bench tests have been carried out using MIG, ARC and TIG welders to determine the likely effects on AquaBlok insulation
Environment
AquaBlok products are free from gases that are harmful to the environment.
CFCs, HTFCs, HFCs, pentane or any gases that have Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP) or Global Warming Potential (GWP).
